CLAT 2021- Recent Updates

 

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2021 which is held annually for admission to 22 National Law University of the country, will be held on June 13, 2021 (as decided in meeting of Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities on January 6, 2021). The exam is postponed from May 9, 2021 (Sunday) to June 13, 2021 (Sunday) @ 2:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. due to clashes with the CBSE Board examination schedule. The application form, complete in all respects (including payment of fees) must be finally submitted and paid on or before March 31, 2021 (11:59 p.m.).

Points to consider while filling CLAT 2021 Application Form

 

  1. Visit https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  2. Click on “Click Here” button on the Home Page.
  3. Register yourself using your phone number and email id.
  4. Upon registration you will receive OTP for verification.
  5. Login with your phone number and password on the website.
  6. Select the course you wish to apply for: CLAT UG (for 5 years LL.B course) OR CLAT PG (for LL.M course). Requests for change of program or category in the application form will not be entertained after form submission.
  7. Keep the following documents ready while filling application form:
  • Front facing passport size recent photograph with plain background

  • Signature of the candidate

  • Category certificate if you are applying under SC/ST/OBC

  • Relevant certificate issued by competent authority if you are P.W.D/ if you are coming under BPL category

  • The original certificates/documents issued by the competent authority as specified in the brochure are to be submitted to the allotted University in the form and manner as specified by the respective universities at the time of admission.

  • All documents/certificates should be uploaded in pdf format only.

 

  1. Fill the following sections carefully
 

I. PERSONAL INFORMATION

  1. Please fill the form carefully. Your name and the parents name shall be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any change/alteration found may disqualify you. 
  2. If you re a PWD Candidate, carefully choose the option of scribe.
  3. Upload the documents mentioned above carefully.

 

II. COMMUNICATION DETAILS

  1. Mention your permanent & correspondence details completely.
  2. Ensure that mobile number is correctly mentioned.

 

III. QUALIFYING EXAM

  1. If you are pursuing your 12th, select appearing from the drop down menu
  2. If you have completed your 12th, select passed.

 

IV. TEST CENTRE PREFERENCES

  1. Select the exam centres in the order of preference.

 

V. RESERVATION 

  1. After giving preferences for NLUs, candidates may apply for reservation by selecting the category. Here, the candidates will have to select their national category and state category. The NLUs may also provide domicile reservation, hence candidates will also have the option to choose their domicile category if available.

 

VI. PAYMENT

After completing the CLAT 2021 application form, candidates must submit the CLAT application form 2021. Upon submission, the payment gateway will be displayed through which candidates will be required to pay the application fee.

 

  1. Please note that once the application is submitted and paid, the candidate cannot change the program, category, and BPL field.
  2. If a candidate has filled-in more than one online application form, the candidate's last online application form only will be considered. In such cases, the application fee for the previous application forms will not be refunded.
 

D- DAY Guidelines 

 

  1. Students shall carry a print out of their CLAT admit card and valid photo ID proof (original) such as Aadhar card, Voter Identification card, PAN card, Passport, or Drivers Licence at the exam centre on the day of CLAT.
  2. Students should reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the exam. No candidate shall be permitted  to enter the Test Centre after 15 minutes from the commencement of the Test.
  3. Candidates should carry a blue and a black pen to the test centre.
  4. Electronic items such as calculators, mobile phones, digital watches are strictly prohibited in the Test Hall.
  5. The candidate should retain admit card duly signed by the invigilator, as will be asked to present the same during admission process after exam.

Q1. How to download CLAT 2021 Admit Card?

The exact date on which the admit card will be made available will be intimated on the website. To download CLAT 2021 Admit Card :

1. Visit the official website of CLAT; Consortium - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in

2. Click on Download Admit Card.

3. Enter your mobile number and password

4. Click on Login, the admit card will be displayed on the screen

5. Download and take a printout of the CLAT 2021 admit card.

 

Q2.  What is the process followed for allotment of National Law University after CLAT Exam?

1.  PROVISIONAL ANSWER KEY

The first step after CLAT exam is release of CLAT provisional answer key on their official website. Candidates will be given at least 2-3 days to raise objections against the provisional answer key. The modified answer key is released post the review of provisional answer key on the basis of objection shared by the candidates. 

How to download CLAT 2021 Answer Key?

  1. Visit the official website of CLAT
  2. Login with your registered number & password
  3. Click on download question paper & provisional answer key option. PDF of answer key is downloaded.

 

2. RESULT DECLARATION (SCORE CARD)

After the final answer key is released , results are declared based on it. Score cards are released in the form of results, in which All India Ranks & Category Ranks are declared, it is suggested to save a copy of score card for further counselling process

 

3. COUNSELLING 

The NLU Consortium will conduct CLAT 2021 counselling on behalf of all participating national law universities. The CLAT 2021 counselling will be conducted in 3 rounds and for each round an invite list will be released.

The candidate shall fill his/her preference order for all 22 NLUs after the results are declared and complete the registration by paying Rs 50,000 as counselling fee and upload all the required documents. On the basis of NLU preference and merit list, the consortium will release the allotment lists in 3 rounds.
